<p>Gosh, yeah kids are interesting, they always project the adults around them.</p><p>While I have encountered countless accounts of racism, either at work, in public transport, etc etc, directed at people around me or myself, my heart wells up with pity for the perpetrators lol; I remember the very first account was in France and was working in a school as the only black member of staff, and for me and my friends, we used to just pity and laugh it off!</p>

Like you said, while it is not about claiming victimhood of course, it is the reality of things. As a woman and African at that, in spaces you have to be a dozen more brilliant and qualified

Otherwise people are only comfortable seeing you doing the mopping and wiping tables, while there's nothing wrong with those jobs, that's where you're expected. The moment you start climbing the ladder, it gets uncomfortable for people; the more reason to take up space

What's even more interesting for me is I have been in spaces with people from North Africa and Middle East, and the racist attitudes towards sub-saharan Africans is craazzzyyyy!

For example, there's this refugee camp I know, we had some work there, and it has people from everywhere, and of the problems they were having, some felt the need to be treated better than the sub-saharans lol.
