Fun fact: This question made me write this, too...
I guess only Judas truly knows, at the end of the day.
The Bible says that the devil put it in his heart to betray Jesus, though.
But, I feel like the devil somewhat feeds on man's desires...and presents them as temptation. To resist or yield is where our faith is tried. Judas yielded, sadly... twice.
He had the choice to turn his guilt to repentance, yet he succumbed to thoughts of killing himself.
