<p>“I don't want to disappoint him.” “What if he goes elsewhere?” “He is my husband.”</p><p>None of these turn an unwilling act into consent.</p><p>Someone enduring pain because they feel they have no choice is not freely choosing.</p><p>Consent should feel like a choice, not an obligation, fear, sacrifice, or price someone has to pay to keep their partner happy.</p><p>Love should make you feel safe enough to say no. And the person who loves you should be safe enough to hear it.</p>
