<p>Sometimes you don't even miss them anymore.</p><p>You miss who you thought they were.</p><p>You miss the version of the relationship you kept hoping would eventually become real.</p><p>And that part about being left with “the grains of yourself” is painfully true.</p><p>You can spend so much time understanding someone, excusing them, showing up for them, and hoping for better that you slowly forget to ask, “Who is showing up for me?”</p>
