It's worse because the reward for a job well done is more work. Should we just be mediocre and do the bare minimum or continue to give our best till we exhaust the whole box. We deserve rest too, but how can we rest with the many responsibilities that are hung around our necks? Some are just collars to tag us, others are chains of bandage. Let's hope something as bold as feeding doesn't become a chore.

More work should also mean more pay.. the earlier employees learn this the better for them.
