<p>The classic African parent.</p><p>There's things that they did really well, our parents...and there's many areas where they could really use some improvement.</p><p>Like your story mentions, they're a product of their upbringing and so in many cases, that's really all they know as regards parenting...it's their only reference.</p><p>I'd say, for millennials and GenZs, we should take the good parts of how they parented, leave the bad, and add it to all the ways we know we want to be different as parents.</p>
