That can be a tricky one to translate...
If I was going to say it I'd probably say...
"Ich will dich kennen lernen" which is closer to " I want to get to know you...".
I'm sorely tempted to check the translator too...but I'm proud of how I've resisted the temptation. @matthewokadinya
About being fluent...Loool. I can't say I'm fluent yet.
Ich bin noch night fließend....besonders beim sprechen and hören.

Ich denke man sagt "Ich möchte mit Leute treffen dennen Deutsch reden kann ich" oder was keine ahnung, das ist eine sehr schwerish ubersetztlich
