It's really great that you're here.💯
Whoever she is, thank her on behalf of TwoCents.
It is indeed a privacy and mental breach...I'll be honest, many years ago...way before MeToo, I didn't understand why women would stay silent after SA episodes..
Ill admit that I was even a bit insensitive in assessing their responses and handling of SA..
But with time, I got to understand.
As a guy, I'll be the first to say that yeah...we've got to do better as guys.
Thank you so much for commenting because this was a topic that tortured someone and forced her into silence. It's a privacy and mental breach that goes a very long way to damaging so many things and we're later left with the silence to deal with?
Omg, Hi Cyrus
Thank you soo much for taking your time to read and like my post and even comment. I've been a writer for a while and one day someone asked if I had any contracts I said NO that people barely know I write so she sent me the link to Two cents and I forgot about it until I opened my WhatsApp channel and she sent it again and I promised to open Two cents and be serious with it so yeah here I am 🥹😊

Well done. Welcome to TwoCents once again!
That shows journalists going undercover in a certain Nigerian university to expose predatory lecturers.
So yeah, it's a systemic thing that needs to change.
Also, another thing you mentioned that caught my attention is
"...Abuse isn’t just someone forcing their way with you NO, it’s the way they look at you, smile at you, talk to you,.."
This.
As a guy, I know how true this is.
There's a lot of "grey area" things we do as guys that aren't explicitly abusive but are...mind games that...
About your post...
You're right, there's definitely a lot of SA and abuse in the academic system by people in power...
Many years ago when I was an undergad, I remember one particular babe that didn't graduate for several years because a certain lecturer in her faculty wanted to....yeah.
And she kept saying no.
As I type this I remember seeing her one day bakc then and she had this exhausted look on her face.
So yes, this does happen and is a big deal.
There's a popular BBC documentary...
