....all those steps you took to feel more confident etc point to how folks have to "do the work" to get to that point where they're confident in who they are.

There's always effort to he made, work to be done..and if one is willing to put in that work...the results will come...

...especially in the aspect of physical attractiveness, dressing, outward appeal etc
