Let me add that it has also led to breakup (I had a rent experience that led to a breakup some years ago).
This rent thing is already a menace for the common man. Agents are not even helping matters at all. If you can afford it, start planning to be a house owner (save, buy a land and bùild something small for a start). Just find way to avoid rent and be a landlord. Shikena!
Thank you Cyrus! “Beyond crazy” doesn’t begin to explain the rent situation and its impact on our standard of living amongst other things especially for a country with citizens that have low disposable income.
We are playing our part with Propslot but the primary onus lies on the government to regulate the industry.
But for now, housing is a basic need and we are forced to dance to the tune.
