First of all, nice one with the series…

Personally I don’t think either gender belongs in the kitchen. Lol.

I think couples should find what works for their unique situation and run with that. If y’all can meal prep, then meal prep.

If you guys are fine with eating out every time (which can be unhealthy and expensive), then by all means. Or do Uber Eats etc if that’s what works for y’all.

If the woman is fine with cooking, awesome. If the guy loves being in the kitchen (Lol) then cool cool.

…If that is your main thing, like that is your main role, the cook, the helper, stay at home dad. Lol

Female attention is often counter-intuitive Belinda, and you know this

You are one person I can comfortably have this discussion with because I know you get this

That last comment…thats the dissonance I was talking about.

You see how what you said “seems right”

Like women should like it when men help them, with kids, cooking etc…

And yes, they do, I mean which woman won’t want the help..

But remember, I never said she won’t like it, I mean, who won’t like it? She would love it

Cook, help with kids, for over 5 years…I bet you the woman will love it

What will likely happen, is she will love all you do, but lose attraction for you…

I know exactly what I’m saying…it might not be obvious until one is in it.

And also I said that on average, that’s the way it’ll be with most women…clearly not all

Besides, I dare say there’s this deep dissonance between what women say and what they actually believe and act out.

I wish we could run this experiment across 1000 married couples from random countries across the world…observe them for 5 years and you’ll see what I’m saying

And lastly, every article, post or comment I’ve seen from women regarding men who cook has been us praising them and wishing more men could be like that. Nothing turns a woman on faster than seeing our partners help out around the home— especially married women raising kids.. Cooking and helping your woman makes you sexier pls. Don’t let the red pill manosphere lie to you. 🙏🥴😆

Lol. Mehn, this is a lot.

I had all but forgotten about this thread.

I’m not one to buy into any propaganda TBH, or repeat red-pill talking points.

And also I said, if a guy does this for a prolonged period of time, not that if he helps out once in a while it hurts his masculinity, absolutely not

I meant that if you take the position as the house chef and feel all jolly in the kitchen for like 5 years for example…on average, it will lead to the babe perceiving you very differently.

Not only are you “womansplaining” it sounds like you ripped a page out of a book from “trust me bro” university. 😹 Edakun, next time uncle Cyrus if you want to know what women find attractive, please ask WOMEN. Secondly, when you feel secure in your masculinity as a heterosexual male, you’ll find that you men are more worried about appearing “manly” than us women care about. The pressure to be masculine comes more from rep pill propagandists than women.

😂. Women find men in the kitchen less attractive how? Chineke nna mere ayin ebere, biko. You cannot be more further from the truth please. That is such a simplistic, stereotypical standpoint to have about something that’s essentially a life skill we should all possess. It’s like saying knowing how to drive as a woman will make you less feminine. How and why?

I hear you Mr Cyrus.

LoL you have a way of debating your points into clarity.

I understand where you are coming from and to an extent you are right.

WOMEN ARE NOT ATTRACTED TO FEMININE MEN, well that is true. But femininity in a man does it mean a man being girly or being in a position of girlyhood?.

LoL I might need to study on this more.

…Jason from the gym that does every masculine thing imaginable, go begin enter her eye. Lool.

Women ARE NOT ATTRACTED TO FEMININE MEN. Forget all this woke, liberal stuff. Lol

You need to be a proper man. Not toxic. Not controlling, not putting her down or subjecting her to gender roles. No

Just be super masculine. She wants to see you as her MAN.

Summary: help her once in a while in the kitchen if you must, but my guys, don’t make it a habit.

Recipe for disaster.

Some of these things might not be obvious to you right now …. But you’ll see all I’m saying with time.

Different perspectives and views aside…some things are just innate to men and women’.

As a man, if you are always in the kitchen, like always, cooking, cleaning, forming supportive husband, Lol

See ehn, she’ll be happy oo, she’ll even compliment you, but slowly…her love for you will devolve from Eros to Philia…Lool

She’ll start seeing you as a brother, and all of a sudden…

…if you want to help out, fix soemthing, maybe her car, or her laptop, or soemthing like that…

I promise you she’d be more impressed by her man if he does that than if he whips up a mean plate of Spaghetti Bolognese. Lol

I’m trying not to come across as sexist as I say all this, but yeahh.

Personally, I’m super flexible, in all my past relationships, there was almost no cooking by anyone. We almost always ate out or ordered etc

But yeah, find what works for you and your partner.

..want to see their man as a MAN, like super masculine.

Forget all this things women say, women want MEN, not softies, not boys, not wimps, not wusses Lol.

You may say that “Cyrus are you saying that cooking is a feminine thing?

I’m not, that would be sexist.

All I’m saying is that as a man, cooking for your wife and being the house cook will make you less masculine and make her less attracted to you…with time.

If you do it once in a while, that’s fine.

Cyrus Majebi Co-founder @ TwoCents, plugME Lagos, Nigeria 11 months, 2 weeks ago

Looool. I’m not taking from experience oo. Me ke? I can’t cook to save my life, and I’ve never been one to love being in the kitchen.

I said that more from the standpoint of how women see men…also I said IF he does it as a habit, like imagine a 7-year marriage where the man has been the “house cook” all through…

I promise you that most (not all) women will start losing attraction for that man, Lol.

It’s not even so much about cooking per se, it’s more about the fact that women want….

Now coming to what Mr Cyrus sayed, honestly you are the first person I'm hearing this from. That if a man takes up the cooking responsibility, he becomes less attractive to the woman. LoL we all have our different views in life though. And maybe you are talking from experience (I stand to be corrected though).

Every other thing you said was so perfect. I loved how you balance it and I couldn't agree less.

Well most men don't like to cook. They best believe the kitchen is for women..LoL

I've said It before and I will say it again, a lot things that are being genderlized are just unnecessary. I agree with Emilia that cooking is a life skill everyone should have irrespective of gender.

Personally I love to cook, ofc I'm a good cook. But at the same time, I would love to be assisted by my hubby while cooking in the future. Because let's not lie, inasmuch as some people love cooking, it is very stressful 😩.

I’m curious to know what @delightpaul @belindachiazor think about this.

1

Cyrus Majebi Co-founder @ TwoCents, plugME Lagos, Nigeria 11 months, 2 weeks ago

Absolutely not.

By all means, help out in the kitchen once in a while, if you want to, cook every now and then if you can, definitely clean up after yourself (always, Lol), do the dishes..ONCE IN A WHILE.

But if you make this like your main thing, like always being in the kitchen cooking…I promise you that that woman will slowly start losing her attraction for you.

1

Cyrus Majebi Co-founder @ TwoCents, plugME Lagos, Nigeria 11 months, 2 weeks ago

…so yeah. Flexibility and adaptability, in short.

That said, a few “other” things.

I’m thoroughly convinced that if a guy lovesssss being in the kitchen and basically becomes the house chef…the woman will slowly lose attraction for him

Many will argue with this and say stuff, but I promise you it’s not far-fetched.

(Most) women, despite all they say, want masculine men, like car-fixing, engine-oil-changing, gym-going men…

You might say, “Cyrus are you saying cooking makes a man less….”
