<p>So when you say “child”, I take it that the person is still under the auspices of their parents…</p><p>…so at that point, well, the hammer of influence (usually) swings in favour of the parents, as regards setting the “child” in a certain direction career-wise.</p><p>You’d expect things to change as the child becomes independent and can decide to change their career-trajectory etc.</p><p>So yeah, short answer…it depends on the independence of the “child”</p>
