Honestly, I didn’t feel the urge or desire to go. I’m in a place where I’m trying to rebuild or at least understand my spiritual life on my own terms.

I’m not against church or faith, I’m just in a phase of unlearning, healing, and figuring out what a genuine relationship with God looks like for me not one that’s driven by fear or pressure.

We went from church to church, program to program, constantly seeking spiritual answers, and that started to affect the way I viewed Christianity. It made me feel disconnected from the faith instead of closer to it.

Now that I’m in school, I’ve had space to think for myself. No one is forcing me to go to church or follow a routine, so I just… stopped. Not out of hate or rebellion, but because I needed a break.

While I respect that, growing up in that kind of environment was sometimes overwhelming for me. A lot of things that I felt needed physical or practical attention were always handled spiritually. Instead of seeing a doctor, it would be prayer. Instead of talking things out, it would be fasting or another church visit. And I often went along with it not because I truly wanted to, but just to please my family.

Okay, I'm just going to give you an honest answer about why I haven’t been going to church for over a year.

I was raised in a deeply Christian home very spiritual, with a strong emphasis on prayer and religious practices.
