You’re absolutely spot on with Netflix and classics. Couldn’t have said that better.
When I read “give persuasion another shot” I thought…”Huhhh?”…
But then I noticed the “novel” and I’m like, ohh yeah, sure. Without having read it, I know the book will be much better than what Netflix did with it.
About living vicariously, I totally get that.
I don’t trust Netflix with classics, the Wuthering Heights trailers say enough but give persuasion ( novel) another shot.
I think for a lot of women, these stories are a way to live vicariously, just to believe, even briefly, that a man, a perfect man, who would burn the world for you might exist. The thought of it is...indescribable.
TBH, I had a couple in mind…
In this order…
Sense and Sensibility (the movie is 💯)
Pride and Prejudice (This was good too)
I’ve seen Persuasion, but something about it didnt quite “slap”, which probably has a lot to do with the fact that it’s a Netflix movie.
About Bridgerton, may I ask why, in your opinion, so many women like it?
Thank you so much, I really appreciate this...was it persuasion you had in mind?
You should watch Bridgerton🙃
