Several of my Abuja friends have said this so many times. And some of the times I was in Abuja, I noticed that it "guided" how they moved and mingled.

In 2022, at my cousin's wedding after party at Play Imperial, a friend of mine that I invited, was reluctant to come and meet my "own people", she said a lot about "being snubbed" etc.

So much so that she came with her own "friends", you know, just to play it safe....and about Lagos people, yuuuup. We are probably even a little too friendly...

I get you though. Lol

And I guess in a sense the cycle/behaviour is self-perpetuating, people meet things a certain way and continue with it based on "na so we see am".

Nice post💯

So I can't really say it, it's just their person, and I honestly keep away from such kind I'd advice you do the same cause even when you try to relate they make it seem like you're covering, this guy I spoke about told me I was an attention seeker🤣😫 just cause I play too much so, I mean it's just them

Honestly I do not know, I may say pride, but everybody has pride and some of them are just like that like,I can't this is the problem, I had this friend in University that was so full of himself a very unhealthy amount, he had this attitude of looking down on all of his other friends, why ? He'd say because he was doing more than just being a student like paying his siblings sch fees and like that's on you, it has nothing to do with how you relate with people but till today he's still the same

Lool. Mehn, sounds like it runs deep there.

What you said about that, sort of like, segregation based on class, my friend spoke about it, she said "Abegg, Abuja rich boys are madd snubs, I don't want abegg"....like I could hear the apprehension in her voice.

What would you say is like the....root cause? I mean there's snubbery and social classification everywhere but why would you say it runs so deep there?

Funny enough at this event I spoke about yeah, some had to get up and say something about the way everyone was moving in cliques like oil in water

I do ooo 🤣🤣, but I'm that type of person with an open spirit till I sense something off about the person and I'm like "nope not today". But I love to meet new people, based on Networking actually I've never tried it as to friendships. Everybody in Abuja has class it's more like everyone is mindfully segregated to who they want to be with you know.

I've only come across few I mean very few open people in this city.

I get that. Even with many friends and cousins, I noticed it.

Do you, or did you find yourself doing it too with your own clique? Since it was like the norm.

Abuja people are up tight, like I've been in Abuja all my life and even from those middle age kids everybody has their cliques.
