Lovely writeup.☺️ And tho I’m tickled by the concept of Halloween, ion think it should become the thing some Nigerians are desperately trying to make it become 🤣. I’ve always wondered at the “copy copy”ness of it all. Agbaya Nigerians forming creepy costumes ontop wetin we no understand?🤣I don’t mind the occasional, fun Halloween party just to form activity but na there e suppose end. Candy wey even cost? Tom tom now no get 50 naira own again sef, so which candy do we want to share here?

For real, the way we adopt foreign holidays without knowing the meaning behind them is wild. Nigeria has so many rich traditions, yet we hype the ones that aren’t even ours. I’m not saying people shouldn’t enjoy what they enjoy, but at least understand the origin before turning it into a trend. Culture shouldn’t just be borrowed, it should be respected.
