Well it's not really a misinterpretation 😂

There's a superstition that says if the first person you see in the morning is a bastard then you'll receive bad luck. Do when you face problems, you say "I don see shege" meaning I saw a bastard, that's why I'm getting bad luck.

We just carried the literal meaning from superstition into everyday language
