<p>Oh my god, that's soo sad and heartbreaking.</p><p>Mary didn't really deserve all that.</p><p>And like you stated, this made me start thinking, why would people equate lack of beauty, that is ugliness, to loss of worth and dignity? Just because a woman is ugly doesn't mean she should be subjected to such ridicule, mockery and shame. I feel so bad for Mary Ann and her children who would remember their mom by the "Ugliest woman on earth" tag.</p><p>This was really insightful and thought-provoking.</p>
