<p>The hypocrisy is hilarious and truly confusing. Our parents refuse to teach us about sex, then get furious if they catch us trying to learn about it from an outside source. Essentially, the rule is ' Don't know about it, don't ask about it, but absolutely do not bring home the consequences of not knowing about it. ' We are expected to perfectly avoid any negative consequences—be it pregnancy, STIs, or emotional damage—without ever being given the necessary education or the freedom to seek it."</p>
