I think distance plays a part too yunno

Back then, they all grew up in a family house, even when they all married, it was mandatory to come over to the family house for festivities but now one aunty is overseas, one uncle is in another state.

Maybe I'm speaking from personal experience...I didn't meet any of my relatives until schooling brought me to another state, and even then it felt werid to relate with them.... they were strangers.

I think I am

Through our daddy Adam

The human race to me has always been one big extended family, so our immediate family is just a closer fraction of our world family.

Thank you for your thought and time. Nagode

Loool 😂

Me???

Are you a long-lost cousin I’m unaware of???😂😂

Exactly!! Today’s world has changed so much…we see people who should be our ride-or-die as strangers.

By the way, did I mention that the insight was nice? It provoked thought, that’s how you recognize a job well done.

True that

All relationships should be of value. One just expects that those you share genes with would be your first choice, but in today's cosmopolitan world, that is not the case. We have met people we never dreamed of coming in contact with, e.g you.

Hmm...I actually understand the logic behind what you're saying

I think we've all grown up to a certain stage, that we begin to consider how beneficial a relationship with certain people are? in this case cousins...we ask ourselves if I build a relationship with them, would it result into added drama, bad influence, increased toxicity or not.

Anyway this is all my personal opinion.

I relate to this too

But this is something that is totally out of our control, people will always move regardless. I guess we just have to change this notion that not growing up around relatives does not necessarily equate alienation from ones family. World is changing every day.
