<p>It was not the season of figs but the tree already had leaves. Fig trees usually produce early fruits alongside the leaves.</p><p>The absence of fruit when there were leaves indicated that the fruit was barren and hence, Jesus cursed it.</p><p>And for the reason why, it was neither hunger nor anger. Rather, it was a symbolic act about the Israelites back then.</p><p>Showing that they would also wither and perish if their spiritual lives bore no fruits.</p><p>I hope this makes sense</p>
