<p>You are making a lot of sense and I agree with this</p><p>I've been an academic mentor and mentee for about 3 years now and it has helped me so much.</p><p>I have someone I report too, it's easier when I give myself challenges because I know I can't afford to be nonchalant about it.</p><p>And truly, a mentor doesn't give you the answers, they rather help you become a person who finds them.</p><p>Thank you for sharing this</p>

the conversation I had with one of my friends yesterday about having a mentor actually triggered writing this essay.. he was saying that having a mentor is not necessary in as much one knows what he’s doing .. we kept arguing for more than an hour .
