<p>This is a powerful piece on how a person’s attempt to “protect” can actually cause more destruction.</p><p>The strongest part of this is the contrast. He thinks he is being noble by leaving but she feels violated because he stole her sense of self. It perfectly captures how emotional wounds can be just as deep as physical ones.</p>
