<p>Most African nations thrive in the victimhood space. In Nigeria, we have an extremely toxic blame culture. We would rather blame everyone else for our misfortunes than look inward and identify the root causes of our problems and nip them in the bud. Doing that is “too much work,” so people resort to blaming others.</p><p>If we can learn to stop blaming and start owning up to our mistakes and trying to fix them, maybe things will get better.</p>
