<p>I use to have this kind of feeling towards African parents and I think it's just a social misconstruction. Where people with higher authority tends to be above the law.</p><p>When the mindset of respect is reciprocal and you don't ask for respect but you earn it, then maybe we'll have a more ethical, sane and safe environment for work</p>

@gloryafolabi I agree. Sometimes respect is demanded based on position rather than earned through character. I think a healthy workplace should make people feel respected regardless of their position. Thanks for sharing your perspective.
