<p>It's actually bad that that's the case. And the opportunity I had to teach in a school, I made sure the kids knew about sex education. Sometimes my baby sis would ask my mum's opinion on a sex related topic and she washes it down with preachings or condemnation and all. But at the end, the child goes away confused and curious on this thing being hidden and this curiosity can lead to damage. I guess some parents feel they are being protective in the sense that when these children become aware....</p>

...of these things, they get exposed and would want to try it out so they resolve to painting sex as a bad thing not necessarily to be discussed. It's bad because most of these strictly religious homes, their kids tend to become the black sheep of the family when they are outside.

Also, I feel some of them are religious and would feel impure or dirty to their children when they talk about it openly. So they prefer to keep that image of religiously guarded people that are highly respected.
