<p>I think the hardest thing about conversations like this is that correction and connection shouldn't be enemies. A child can be disciplined without being afraid, and respected without being neglected. The question isn't whether parents should correct their children. It's whether the child feels safe enough to come back after the correction. That's the part many of us are still struggling with years later. Beautiful and thought-provoking piece.</p>

Correction in love is a thing, and many parents need to learn it. I really love the way you said it - it's whether the child feels safe enough to come back after the correction.
