<p>We really need to stop measuring Nigeria's progress only through GDP, infrastructure, population or economic potential. The kitchen table is also an economic indicator. If a family that used to eat three proper meals now has to eat once or twice a day, something is fundamentally wrong regardless of what the bigger economic numbers say. Development should eventually be felt in people's homes, not just celebrated in reports.</p>
