<p>Even if there is some temporary relief in certain food prices, farmers still have to deal with fertiliser, fuel, transportation and unpredictable weather. If production becomes more expensive, the pressure eventually finds its way back to consumers. It feels like a cycle that requires serious long term intervention rather than temporary fixes.</p>
