<p>And now I’m sitting here thinking about how strange it is that we can travel thousands of kilometres to experience cultures that feel “foreign,” while those same cultures may have influenced ours for generations. Africa is so interconnected, yet we keep introducing ourselves to one another like strangers. There is something deeply ironic about that.</p>
