<p>4/4 This was the end goal: all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small.</p><p>I think that's why her story still lingers today. It reminds us that dignity often comes with a cost, and that choosing self respect is not always rewarded with approval or understanding.</p><p>Yet some things are worth more than a title or position.</p><p>I can only imagine how others despised her.</p>

Ofc which is why we only remember Esther but forget about Vashti. A whole queen of an empire.

For somebody of such level to be treated like a commoner is actually very demeaning and humiliating!
