<p>This part actually made me angry more than sad, especially the way Sikirat’s belongings were supposedly kept for the children, yet they could barely even touch them. 😔</p><p>The girls had every reason to give up, but somehow they kept finding people who helped them move forward.</p><p>The strongest part of this story for me: sometimes the people who save you aren't the ones who promised to help at the funeral.</p>
