Someone should tell our parents that we need a home not a military barrack .Fear isn't respect or reverence and it's not love .I wasn't raised with an iron fist but I see a lot of kids around me who tremble in the presence of their parents.Correction is necessary but there's a limit.Sometimes when parents listen to their kids they solve most of the issues they've been scolding and spanking these kids for.Beautiful piece Esther.

The crazy part is that as children get older, parents desire that open communication more and more.

I've seen daughters who are afraid to speak to their own mother about changes in their body. Scared to have the "boy" talk or anything else even slightly intimate.

Children who only speak to their fathers when bills choke.

Some parents need to do better sha. Discipline is great, strictness can be balanced, but terror is one CRAZY choice for upbringing.
