Belinda, I must say this seeming short story, which is actually a story in a story — it’s simply a masterpiece. As we like to say in Lagos and most parts of Nigeria, “The hustle is real.” Here’s the story of a man trying to make the most of his youthfulness, only to hit a life-changing and probably eternal guilt-inciting experience he is to reckon with for the rest of his life. It’s how we relate to Emmanuel, at the end of the day… 😮‍💨

Thank you for the compliment, Salvin. And I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yes o, we are all Emmanuel in varying degrees. Sometimes we get dealt a bad hand while in an already precarious situation, just by being Nigerians living in Nigeria or by simply being an adult.
