<p>I actually agree with this. “If they wanted to, they would” sounds good, but real life isn’t always that simple. Sometimes someone genuinely cares but is overwhelmed, scared, inexperienced, or just doesn’t know how to express it.</p><p>That doesn’t mean we should keep making excuses for someone who never puts in effort, though. I think communication and consistency matter more than trying to read someone’s intentions from their actions alone.</p>
