<p>This is great.</p><p>The idea of a child losing the roof and suddenly being expected to become one is heartwrenching</p><p>“Grief promoted him” is such a powerful way to put it. These boys didn't just lose parents,they lost the freedom to simply be children. They had to choose between their dreams and survival, and some of them had to carry responsibilities far beyond their age.</p><p>I’m looking forward to Part Two because surviving the burden doesn't mean the burden leaves you.</p><p>Beautifully written.</p>
