It's wild how rare it is to be asked "How are you?" and actually be expected to answer honestly. That second "really" hits different, it feels like someone finally sees past the mask. But if you're not ready for the outcome which is to be a shoulder to cry on when someone who is clearly not okay tries to pour it out, then don't even ask in the first place.
