History and real-life accounts also show husbands who died shortly after their wives — sometimes within weeks or months.

Even though I’ve only seen cases where women lost the will to continue living after the death of their husbands, I did some research and discovered that men too have experienced the same. In fact, psychology and medicine even have a term for it: “broken heart syndrome” (stress-induced cardiomyopathy).

Some men (just like women) become so overwhelmed with grief that their bodies literally give way — their heart weakens under the strain of intense stress.
