<p>I totally agree with you on this one, but I think the reason why men have this kind of mentality today might be because they see the woman as the mother figure and therefore expect her to correct and forgive them. They feel that as she is the one responsible for bringing a child into the world, she's meant to be responsible enough to keep herself committed to her husband.</p>

Well she definitely did not make the baby herself so that seems counter intuitive. As for being a mum figure to them; at some point, we have to realise he is an adult and can correct himself or at least think better
