A Heart Out Of Season

She sits in silence, day by day,

The colors of love fading to gray.

Once a bride with stars in her eyes,

Now she sighs beneath routine skies.

The house is quiet, the bed is cold,

Her husband's touch feels worn and old.

No words of fire, no sparks remain—

Just echoes lost in love’s domain.

Then came a breeze, so fresh, so new,

A young boy’s smile, the world askew.

He spoke with dreams and eyes so wide,

He made her feel the flame inside.

A glance too long, a laugh too near,

He stirred her soul and drew her near.

Not lust alone, but something more—

A longing she could not ignore.

She battles guilt, she knows the wrong,

But hearts aren’t built so firm, so strong.

She craves a life that breathes again,

Beyond the years, beyond the pain.

Yet in her mind, a war is waged,

Between desire and vows long aged.

For love that strays may bloom, then burn—

And some roads crossed have no return.

So there she sits, with aching grace,

A woman trapped in time and place.

In love, perhaps, but torn apart—

By duty’s chain and a hungry heart.
