<p>A Recipe for disaster!</p><p><br/></p><p>It was 11 pm on a Friday. I'd finished watching the news an hour ago, just before the national grid collapsed. I could hear sirens and shots fired from two houses away.</p><p><br/></p><p>I headed towards the kitchen to prepare a recipe only known to me as I heard the garage door creak.</p><p><br/></p><p>1 cup of silence and slow, heavy breathing.</p><p>½ teaspoon of stealth.</p><p>3 tablespoons of tip toeing.</p><p>3 drops of sweat.</p><p>2 cups of heart palpitations.</p><p>⅓ handful of hyperventilation.</p><p>2 tablespoons of nausea.</p><p>A handful of chest tightness.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>I heard the door open as the footsteps echoed. I contemplated turning on my torch as my heart skipped a beat.</p><p><br/></p><p>I crawled towards the entrance as I held the hem of my skirt, stuffing my mouth with the sock I found.</p><p><br/></p><p>Just as I got to the door, about to make my escape, a torch stretched across my body, revealing every move. I could see that I was a centimetre away from the reversible doormat.</p><p> “Goodbye,” it read.</p><p><br/></p><p>I added the final ingredients as I glanced at the silhouette of the individual with a weapon…</p><p><br/></p><p>A dash of fear.</p><p>Two bowls of speed…</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>What do you think happens next?
