<p><br/></p><p>"Well Mrs Davina...last month, my husband Ray opened up to me about what he did to you in the past...and I felt really bad. I had to advise him to seek you out and ask for your forgiveness again...but he said that he couldn't access you anymore. Reason being that you changed your contact and home address" Natasha said and upon seeing a cue from Ray, she abruptly went quiet for him to take over.</p><p>"Davina, everything my wife said is true. After I was discharged from prison, I went to look for you at your previous apartment to ask for your forgiveness again but I was told that you no longer lived there. I also rang your phone number several times but it never went through. I figured that you intentionally cut communication so as to sever ties with me"</p><p>"Quit thinking too highly of yourself Ray. Whatever decision I took were for myself and had nothing to do with you. I simply wanted to close all the chapters that remind me of my past. That's why I changed my phone contact and state of residence to somewhere faraway. So seeing you here actually baffles me and gets me wondering how you were able to find me out" Davina said looking skeptically at Ray.</p><p>"Davina to be honest, finding you out wasn't deliberate. Natasha and I have a business meeting to attend here and so we traveled into this state last weekend. I was sightseeing on the road yesterday and came across a banner that had your face photo-engraved on it, as well as your job description and office contact. I told Natasha about it and she came up with the suggestion to book a counseling session in your firm so as to gain personal access to you" Ray said as a conclusion to his explanation.</p><p>Davina heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing the indirect verbal confirmation from Ray that he came to see her for good. She intentionally put on a serious look as she gave a plain reply.</p><p>"Okay I understand all you've explained Ray. So tell me, what is it you want to see me for...? I would advise you to talk fast as I don't have the time for hide and seek. I am a busy woman who has plenty of other clients to attend to!"</p><p>"I know you are a busy woman Davina and to be sincere, I am really happy to see you exploring your in-depth potential and living a good life as you deserve. About what I came to see you for; like my wife said earlier, I want to apologize to you for the wrong I committed against you..." Ray said and paused to take a deep breath before expressing himself again.</p><p>"...Davina, I know you would say that I had asked for your forgiveness at the hospital years ago...but then I still can't help doing this again because I wasn't convinced that you had truly forgiven me. I am here to beg you again today and I don't plan on stopping until when my conscience is fully satisfied that you've forgiven me from your heart. Davina, I am very very sorry for hurting you, please forgive me"</p><p>Davina chuckled lightly as she looked at Ray looking very dejected and full of remorse.</p><p>"Common Ray, I wasn't buffing when I told you that I had forgiven you back then in the hospital. The truth is, I have no reason to stay angry with you. I mean you were in a tight corner and had no better choice than to take the deal offered to you by my ex-husband. I understand that Jude was wholly to blame for everything...so Ray, I truly hold nothing in my heart against you..." Davina said with a gentle voice as she exhaled deeply before continuing.</p><p>"...moreover, the IVF that was performed with your sperm gave me a beautiful daughter in the person of Stephanie. You have a working conscience...which makes me feel glad that you are my daughter's father and not a dark-hearted Jude who wanted to harm a little girl like Steph" Davina said with a shaky voice whilst continually blinking her eyes in order to hide the sad emotions that were beginning to crawl as she talked about this part.</p><p>Ray who understood exactly what Davina meant didn't bother to say a word so it wouldn't further trigger her into tears. </p><p>Why wouldn't he understand...? When he was present in the interrogation room when his friend Jude was confessing to the crime of trying to psychologically cripple Stephanie. It really did shock him because he honestly never knew his friend was wicked to such an extent.</p><p>Ray alongside Natasha simply remained quiet and patiently waited until Davina was out of her solemn mood and ready to talk again.</p><p>"I'm sorry for earlier, I just seem to get emotional anytime I think about that part of my past. So back to what we were discussing Ray. Like I said before, from my heart, I really owe nothing against you. You are the person who saved our daughter Stephanie's life against your friend Jude's wish. So tell me Ray, what actual reasons do I have to want to stay hung on your past wrongdoing...?" </p><p>Davina's words got Ray emotional and his eyes became teary as he replied with a shaky voice.</p><p>"I didn't think of myself that way Davina. All this while, I actually thought that you were still angry with me and saw me as the worst person ever lived on earth!"</p><p>"No Ray, I have never seen you in a bad light. I forgave you six years ago and I still forgive now. I believe you are the one who should forgive yourself which would set your conscience free from haunting you. You are a good man Ray and from the way your wife is glowing, I can tell you are a good husband too" Davina said smiling genuinely at Ray. </p><p>Afterwards, Davina turned her gaze to look at his wife Natasha who had to stay quiet so she could comfortably talk with Ray.</p><p>"Thank you very much Natasha for being such a good wife and a positive support system to my friend Ray. You are probably a nice person and I pray that God rewards all your good deeds with his kingdom blessings, amen!" Davina said to Natasha who smiled pleasantly and then light-heartedly replied to Davina. </p><p>"Thank you Davina. God bless you too for forgiving my husband and considering him worthy to still be addressed as your 'friend'. Trust me, Ray and I appreciate this very much"</p><p>Ray's lips curved into a smile as he excitedly nodded in agreement to what Natasha said. </p><p>"Oh, I thought I was the only one who was surprised to hear you address me as 'your friend'...but it seems my wife was surprised too. Thank you very much Davina for the warm reception, you are such a sweet soul!"</p><p>"You're welcome Ray. So, I am guessing that deep down, you are curious about how your daughter Stephanie is faring or aren't you...?" Davina said teasingly whilst looking at Ray.</p><p>"Yes please. I'm shocked that you could read me so well enough to guess exactly what I was curious about. Ah, you are very correct Davina. I have been curious about it but I felt like I would be moving too fast if I decide to ask about her today. Please Davina, I know that I have no right to refer to Stephanie as my daughter so I won't call her that...but would it be okay if I know how she is faring at least"</p><p>Davina beamed on seeing Ray's puzzled look and without wasting much time, she granted Ray's request by giving an elaborate reply.</p><p>"Well, human psychology was amongst the curriculum I studied while I was undergoing training to be a relationship/marriage coach. That is why I was able to guess what was going through your mind even without you voicing it out. Now to your request, your daughter Stephanie is doing perfectly well. Our little girl is no longer experiencing those psychological crises"</p><p>"Are you serious Davina...?" Ray quizzed feeling super excited by what he just heard.</p><p>"Yes I am. You see, after those undetectable convulsion drugs Jude used to add to her meals came to an end, Stephanie recovered surprisingly fast mentally. As for physically, she regained her health a few weeks after that blood transfusion you did and till date her overall health is still very fine"</p><p>"Oh, I'm so glad to hear that Stephanie is doing very well..." Ray said calmly and then he paused to clear his throat before continuing.</p><p>"...mmh Davina, I don't know if what I am about to say now would sound nice to your ears but I will still say it regardless. The thing is, I...I...I.." Ray said stammering as though what he intends to say is heavy for his mouth.</p><p>Sensing Ray's discomfort, Davina had to speak out in a bid to calm Ray's nerves and subsequently urge him into saying his mind.</p><p>"It's okay Ray. You can say whatever it is that is on your mind. No matter how it would sound to my ears, I promise not to be angry"</p><p>Ray inhaled and exhaled deeply before he finally muttered the courage to express the desires of his heart to Davina.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
