It seems much easier to point out a person's errors and mistakes and give advice to turn over a new leaf, but it seems harder on the path of the one who is to take the action. And yes, it is, especially when there's so much condemnation from people around. Sometimes, the condemnation doesn't come from hatred or dislike but from the number and height of expectations people have for you.

But let me give you a "cheat code."

Reset and occasionally renew your mind.

The first thing to do is to be honest with yourself. Tell yourself the truth. You know that truth, so why not make things easier for yourself? It's amusing how it's possible to not just lie to people but also lie to yourself. You broke the cup, yet you lied about it, and even when you entered your room and you are alone, you still tell yourself, "Was it me that broke the cup? I said I didn't break it, and yet they don't believe me." Isn't that... I don't even know the word to use for it. That was just a common example, actually, but the point is to be truthful to yourself.

Then, be intentional about your change. Memories and things you enjoyed doing will come from time to time. They'll come so strongly that you'd want to go back, but you have to consciously put yourself in order. Of course, times will come when you will still fall; the important thing is that you don't stay down. Pick yourself up again. You'll be happy that you disciplined yourself and overcame, and it'll encourage you to keep holding on and pushing until you burst out victorious.

Another thing that will really come in handy in the worst-case scenario: choose someone, an accountability partner. Someone to whom you can pour out your plans, and who will help you stay true to them and notify you when you are going against them.

Very importantly, do not let anyone look down on you if you are truly and intentionally working your way to be a better person. The more you listen and absorb, the more it feels like you are not trying, and the more you begin to lose strength and zeal to keep pushing until you finally lose hope in yourself. No matter what anyone says, change doesn't happen once; it's a process, so don't let it bring you down. Instead, keep pushing and let your results prove that you have been working on yourself and you are now different. It is a long journey and a painful one, but with discipline, strength, perseverance, and God, you will come out victorious.

I'll stop here for now.

Thank you for reading

Let me know your thoughts or questions in the comment section.

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
