WORDS DON’T ALWAYS CARRY THE SAME MEANING FOR EVERYONE:

Two people can hear the same words and interpret them in different ways depending on their emotions, experiences, and expectations.

This is one common occurrence in our day-to-day lives. The other day, I was having a conversation on WhatsApp with a friend, trying to let them know that the way they were approaching their feelings for someone seemed too fast. In that conversation, I said to them, “Why would you fall in love with someone in five days?”

I asked them if they were sure it was love or if they had simply started liking the company of the other person. But my friend didn’t understand the statement and became sad. They thought I was trying to tell them that it couldn’t happen and, in a way, felt that I was being rude and inconsiderate of their feelings for asking such a direct question.

In this case, my friend judged the statement based on an earlier reply and thought I was angry and just being negative.

This made me realize that communication isn’t always about what we say.

Sometimes, it’s about what the other person thinks we meant and how their response and reaction may affect the communication process if the information passed across was not properly interpreted.

Sometimes, the way to prevent this situation is to properly enlighten the listener on what exactly you are trying to communicate to them. This may take more than one attempt, but it is necessary if you want the information to be properly understood.

Have you ever said something with one intention, only for the other person to understand it completely differently?

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
