<p>As a web/software developer or someone in tech.</p><p><br/></p><p>We are all conversant with the word HTML and we know that it’s the basic language used to build a websites. </p><p><br/></p><p>But did you know there are actual groups that make sure HTML works well for everyone?</p><p><br/></p><p>Two major groups do this job: </p><p><br/></p><p>💞 W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and </p><p><br/></p><p>💞 WHATWG (Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group)</p><p><br/></p><p>These are communities of smart people around the world who work together to keep HTML clean, consistent, and up to date. </p><p><br/></p><p>They create rules (called standards) that help websites look and behave the same way on different browsers and devices.</p><p><br/></p><p>Why does this matter to you? </p><p>Let’s say you build a website that looks great on your laptop… but when someone opens it on their phone, it’s broken or messy. That’s frustrating, right?</p><p><br/></p><p>By following HTML standards: </p><p>💞 Your site looks good everywhere, desktop, tablet, phone </p><p><br/></p><p>💞 It loads better and faster </p><p> </p><p>💞 Search engines (like Google) understand it better, so your site can show up more in search results</p><p><br/></p><p>Also, HTML is still growing and improving. The current version, HTML5, is called a Living Standard, meaning it keeps evolving with the latest web trends and tech.</p><p><br/></p><p>So even if you're new, knowing about standards is important because they help you build websites that work for everyone, everywhere.</p>
At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
