As we are ushered into the start of the EMBER🤗 months, one may begin to wonder again the mystery behind the EMBER months🤔 especially with the way it is so much hyped cosidering the occurrences that happen in those periods. Many would probably conclude that the origin of the EMBER months has a lot to do with all of the happenings that occur in it. Only if they knew🤷♂️ that the origin of the EMBER months has absolutely nothing🙅♂️ to do with all of its omens. (Surprised?🤓..No pressure at all let me take you through the EMBER months' history briefly).

It dates back to the Ancient Roman lunar based🌚🌑 calendar introduced around 753 BCE which had only 10 months namely:

1. Martius(March)

2.Aprilis ↗(April)

3.Maius ↗(May)

4.Junius ↗(June)

5.Quintillis ↗(July)

6.Sextilis ↗(August)

7.September ↗(Seven which means SEPTEM in Latin)

8.October ↗(Eight which means OCTO in Latin)

9.November ↗(Nine which means NOVEM in Latin)

10. December(Ten which means DECEM in Latin)

Later around 45 BCE, Julius Caesar introduced the Julian solar based🌞🌝 Calendar which included 2 extra months namely:

Ianuarius(January)and Februarius (February).

In Summary, September, October, November and December literally means 7, 8, 9 and 10 respectively. I know you thought it meant something deep right?🤭 Sorry to disappoint you. Lol😂

However, as to the occurrences that happen in these months, I feel it has nothing to do with the months but with humans who chose these months as an avenue to do all kinds of wonders especially December!! True "Naijans" will understand what I'm saying. I mean...It's only funny that things we over hype these days happen to have just a simple history or origin. Who would have thought that the Ember months were named after numbers?🤔🤷♂️

This is my honest opinion about the events or better still, the myth behind the EMBER months, you can let me know yours in the comments section.✍️🤗

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
