<p>'Emptiness'</p><p><br/></p><p>What is Emptiness?</p><p><br/></p><p>Is it loneliness, not fitting in, feeling lost, or even depressed?</p><p><br/></p><p>Oxford describes it as the feeling of being empty, or a non-existence, a lack of existence.</p><p><br/></p><p>If it's feeling empty:</p><p><br/></p><p>The Bible says "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled."</p><p><br/></p><p>If it's a lack of existence:</p><p><br/></p><p>*Meaningless! Meaningless! Everything is meaningless!"</p><p><br/></p><p>This was said by King Solomon as he realized the futility of pleasure, wisdom, work, and finally, life.</p><p><br/></p><p>So he concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should cat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.</p><p><br/></p><p>Personally. I've felt empty once.</p><p><br/></p><p>But can I describe that feeling which I've overcome?</p><p><br/></p><p>When you win a race, can you truly describe what you felt while falling behind?</p><p><br/></p><p>When you succeed, can you truly describe what you felt when you were yet to succeed?</p><p><br/></p><p>Switching over.......</p><p><br/></p><p>Can you describe the feeling of temptation after you've fallen into sin?</p><p><br/></p><p>Can you describe the feeling of rage after your anger has subsided?</p><p><br/></p><p>Can we truly describe feelings and experiences of the past when we no longer feel or experience them?</p><p>Whether we like it or not, we are not just describing memories but memories mixed with our subsequent experiences and feelings.</p><p><br/></p><p>We all hated going to bed early when we were younger.</p><p><br/></p><p>Now we reminisce on the "Good ol' days."</p><p><br/></p><p>We all hated what we endured while not succeeding.</p><p><br/></p><p>But after we succeed, the story is "It was worth it."</p><p><br/></p><p>Is there any point describing the past when all we have is a memory contaminated with its future?</p><p><br/></p><p>You call it "Love at first sight when it's really 'Falling in love.</p><p><br/></p><p>If all the past feelings and experiences we describe aren't what we truly felt or experienced, does that mean we are all cmpty sheils running on memories?</p><p><br/></p><p>The Bible says: "I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. I He has planted eternity in the human heart.....</p><p><br/></p><p>Oxford theologically defines Etemity' as "Existence outside time."</p><p><br/></p><p>So if 'Eternity is in my heart, was I ever truly empty?</p><p><br/></p><p>In short, I've succeeded in confusing both myself and you but what I do know is that with God, you can't be an empty shell running on memories.</p>
