Ending Religious Discrimination for a Peaceful Society.

Religion is one of the major factors that teaches people how to live a healthy and peaceful life. It stands as a key component of humanity because it inspires positive feelings within the hearts and minds of individuals. It also teaches the values of love, compassion, and kindness among people, while strengthening social unity and belonging.

Religion can be seen as a system of beliefs, practices, and values through which people understand the existence of a Supreme Being and organize their relationship with Him, as well as with other human beings. Indeed, religion guides people on how to live morally, worship sincerely, and find meaning and purpose in life.

Regardless of any belief system—Islam, Christianity, or Traditional Religion—the basic principles of all religions are to promote love, peace, and unity in society. Although each religion has its own sacred texts, such as the Qur’an and the Bible, which shape their morals, beliefs, and ethics, the most important point to note is that every religion upholds human dignity, equality, justice, morality, and fairness.

However, in contemporary times, religious discrimination has become highly alarming and dangerous. Some Muslims avoid interacting with Christians, and vice versa, simply because of religious differences. Yet, religious diversity does not prevent us from exchanging greetings, gifts, and social interactions, as clearly encouraged by religious teachings. Discrimination only leads to frustration, anger, conflict, and social unrest.

Therefore, we must put an end to these negative attitudes and promote love and peace in our society. Let us respect every religion, as long as its beliefs do not harm or undermine others. Your religion is yours, and mine is mine. Let us live together in peace.
