Enemies To Lovers
<p>Were you really their enemy…</p><p>or just the person who misunderstood them first?</p><p><br/></p><p>Sometimes you weren’t the villain…</p><p><br/></p><p>But you definitely weren’t the hero you insisted you were.</p><p><br/></p><p>You just judged first, and the first judge always feels justified.</p><p><br/></p><p>Your narrative was sharp and simple;</p><p>theirs was messy and human.</p><p><br/></p><p>But people aren’t simple,</p><p>and neither are you.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sometimes you were wronged…</p><p>and sometimes you were just defensive.</p><p><br/></p><p>That person you hated,</p><p>was it truly hatred?</p><p><br/></p><p>Or just attraction mixed with fear,</p><p>hurt wearing the mask of irritation?</p><p><br/></p><p>Half of what we call “hate”</p><p>is just two people too stubborn to admit</p><p>“I care, and it scares me.”</p><p><br/></p><p>You didn’t listen.</p><p>They didn’t listen.</p><p><br/></p><p>You both mistook tension for hostility.</p><p>You mistook butterflies for annoyance.</p><p>They mistook admiration for anger.</p><p><br/></p><p>So ego spoke louder than honesty…</p><p>and silence fed the fire.</p><p><br/></p><p>Before you roll your eyes, breathe.</p><p><br/></p><p>We’ve all heard the warnings about enemies:</p><p><br/></p><p>Enemies who oppose you</p><p>Enemies who challenge you</p><p>Enemies who embarrass you</p><p>Enemies who spark your rage</p><p><br/></p><p>Most of us have met such people.</p><p>But what if your “enemy” wasn’t one of them?</p><p><br/></p><p>What if you didn’t despise them,</p><p>what if you just feared how deeply they saw you?</p><p><br/></p><p>Let’s be honest, some “rivals”</p><p>are just people who forced you to outgrow yourself.</p><p><br/></p><p>They pointed out your weak spots</p><p>and you hated them for being right.</p><p><br/></p><p>They weren’t cruel,</p><p>they were honest.</p><p><br/></p><p>You weren’t wounded,</p><p>you were confronted.</p><p><br/></p><p>They set boundaries.</p><p>You called it arrogance.</p><p><br/></p><p>They stood their ground.</p><p>You called it hostility.</p><p><br/></p><p>But were they truly your enemy…</p><p>or just someone who refused to shrink so you could feel tall?</p><p><br/></p><p>What if they weren’t your rival…</p><p>what if they were the first person who ever matched you?</p><p><br/></p><p>Everybody meets a mirror eventually.</p><p><br/></p><p>You attacked.</p><p>They defended.</p><p>You sparred.</p><p>They mirrored.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then one day they stopped fighting you,</p><p>and started seeing you.</p><p><br/></p><p>And suddenly the tension didn’t feel like war anymore.</p><p>It felt like gravity.</p><p><br/></p><p>But did you ever consider</p><p>that you were falling for them long before you admitted it?</p><p><br/></p><p>What if it wasn’t hatred,</p><p>what if you two were just emotionally terrified?</p><p><br/></p><p>Not every spark burns.</p><p><br/></p><p>Even fire and water seem opposite</p><p>until you find the right distance.</p><p><br/></p><p>Some people fight because they care too deeply.</p><p>Some people clash because they understand each other too well.</p><p><br/></p><p>Opposition is not hatred.</p><p>Friction is not cruelty.</p><p>And not every battlefield is a place of war,</p><p>some are the birthplace of love.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sometimes the enemy becomes the lover</p><p>because the heart recognizes brilliance</p><p>long before the mind stops resisting it.</p>
