Fashion's Forgotten Fathers: The Men Who Started It All.

Warning: what you're about to read may shock, amaze, and possibly confuse you. Get ready for a fashion fact-check that will leave you speechless! It turns out, the original fashionistas are... (drumroll please) ...men!"😂

Yes, men! Let's go down the history lane:

Let's start with skirts...Dating back to the 16th century, in ancient Scotland, the kilt, a pleated garment worn around the waist, was originally worn by men as a traditional attire. It was worn by Scottish Highlanders including warriors and noblemen. It was a practical garment for men allowing for freedom of movement and comfort in the rugged Scottish Highlands. It was also a symbol of Scottish heritage and identity. The kilt.

Moving on to heels...Yes, that one too started with men🤭. According to historical records, the first known use of heels was in Ancient Persia (modern-day Iran) during the 10th century. Horsemen used it for stability in stirrups while riding horses. It was later adopted by European calvary men in the Middle Ages. Also, in the 17th and 18th centuries, men's fashion in Europe featured high heels as a symbol of masculinity and status. However, by the mid-18th century, men's fashion shifted towards more practical and comfortable footwear, and heels became associated with women's fashion. Today, high heels are a staple in women's fashion. Men, lets laugh at women's copycat nature🤭😅.

Lastly and more ridiculous, we have the eye liner and lip colour _what we call lipstick. It started with the men 🙋♂️😊.

Let's prove it:

In ancient civilizations, men were indeed among the first to wear lip color.

Ancient Mesopotamia

In ancient Sumeria, around 4000-1900 BCE, men wore lip color as a status symbol. The color indicated their social position, with brighter colors signifying higher status.

Also, in the 8th to 11th centuries, ancient Viking warriors (Vikings: Scadinavians- present day Denmark, Norway and Sweden) wore eye liner and lip colour to show their social status and demonstrate spiritual connections.

All of this were later adopted by women an turned to fashion. So the next time you see a guy rocking a skirt and heels, just remember – he's not breaking the rules, he's just following in the footsteps of his ancestors!"
